Daily Minyan – April 20, 2009

This will be my first Daily Minyan and it will feature 11 players, not 10.  I neglected the fact that Jose Bautista is playing 3B for the Blue Jays this year.  As Jackie Gleason would say, “And away we go!!”

 

Brad Ausmus, C – Los Angeles Dodgers

Brad didn’t see any action in the Dodgers game against the Rockies.

 

Jose Bautista, 3B – Toronto Blue Jays

Jose didn’t see any action in the Blue Jays game against the A’s.

 

Ryan Braun, OF, 3B – Milwaukee Brewers

Ryan went 0-for-4, with two strike outs in the Brewers game against the Mets.

 

Craig Breslow, P – Minnesota Twins

Craig didn’t see any action in the Twins game game against the Angels.

 

Scott Feldman, P – Texas Rangers

Scott didn’t see any action in the Rangers game against the Royals.

 

John Grabow, P, Pittsburgh Pirates

John didn’t see any action in the Pirates game against the Braves.

 

Gabe Kapler, OF – Tampa Bay Rays

Gabe entered the game as a replacement for B.J. Upton, who left due to right quadriceps tightness.  He went 2-for-3 with a double.  His average is currently below the Mendoza line, at .174. 

 

Ian Kinsler, 2B – Texas Rangers

Ian went 2-for-4, with a solo homer (4), 2 runs scored, a walk and 2 stolen bases (5,6). His batting average now stands at .460.

 

Jason Marquis, P – Colorado Rockies

Jason didn’t start in the Rockies game against the Dodgers.

 

Scott Schoeneweis, P – Arizona Diamondbacks

Scott faced one hitter, Pablo Sandoval, who singled. His ERA is now 4.50.

 

Kevin Youkilis, 1B, 3B – Boston Red Sox

Youk went 1-for-2 with a double and scored a run in the Red Sox game against the Orioles.
